Whipped Radiance

For B&BW True Blue Spa Radiance Whipped Body Cream

body

I love the scent of this line and I hope it is still available next year. It smells like a vacation on the beach to me. My bottle states that it is not tested on animals, so I would repurchase, just not this shimmer version. While the shimmer was pretty, I don’t think the cream itself was moisturizing enough. I’m all for the shimmer body lotions in the summer, but I also want it to be a bit hydrating. I might repurchase it next year, because I do like it. I think I would love this if the lotion was reformulated. I still have the wave spray in this scent. This is one of my favorite scents from B&BW. I highly recommend it if you want a light shimmer lotion. It absorbed up really fast, so it was great in the morning.

The End Of Pan That Palette

I only had time for a quick post today, so I decided to come on here to say that I am calling it quits on this project. Going through my collection on my blog showed me that I have a ton of eye products that are older than my eye shadow palette just sitting in my collection. I decided to end this series and to start a monthly makeup bag one, where I chose 5 products to focus on every month. This way, I rotate through my collection more and find out products that I love again and others that I can part with. I have no problem parting with items in my collection if I hate them or if they have gone bad.

I realized that I have SO many eye shadows just collecting figurative dust. I used my glitter eye gloss the other day and fell in love with it. I cannot wait for the weekends to wear them every day. I already hit pan on the eye shadow, because I have been digging deep into the pan to get a little more gloss than glitter. I like a little sparkle, but it has a VERY glittery spray over on the top layer.

I guess, I just didn’t enjoy limiting myself to just that one palette. I’m sure I’ll bring it in throughout next year a few times, but I want to use up my singles and quads next year. I like the convenience of a palette, but I still want variety. Once I use up my singles and stuff, I’ll let myself buy a couple of eye shadow palettes. Definitely the Too Faced White Chocolate Chip Palette and/or Smashbox cover shot palette. I like the little ones along with the big bulky ones.

I just wanted to explain why I was ending my project pan that palette. I look forward to using up more of my collection before the end of the year without the added pressure. I’ve felt a lot less pressured about my makeup this month, since I started the new series. I don’t have to use anything up and when I do, it is going to be so much more rewarding. I’m also starting a 200 pan next year for all of my beauty related products. I go through about 20 beauty products a month on average. It should be an achievable goal for me. I know most people do a 100 pan, but I think I would be done with that too soon in the year. I might do 250 pan to make it a real challenge. We shall see!

$200 Before 2018: Update #6

I managed to use up a few more makeup items in September, but not that many. I really need to move myself into high gear if I want to finish 7 more products and use up the rest of that $200 that is remaining in this challenge. If I reach both goals before 2018, I will end the challenge on that month otherwise it will end with the last update in January for December.

Let’s recap, I have finished 13 out of 20 products with the total being $123.20 out of $200. Let’s see if I can raise that total to $140.

1 Perfume Sample = $1

IMG_2887

Temptu Highlighter = $4

highlighter

MUFE ULTRA HD Loose Microfinishing Powder = $5

My total now is 15 out of 20 products used up to the tune of $133.20. That isn’t so bad. I still have October, November, and December left. So, that is three months left for this project. In order to make it, I need to finish at least almost 2 products every month. I will also need a minimum value of $22.27 used up every month. This is going to be so challenging and I really need to move my butt on this. Even if I “fail” this challenge, I will see it as a win, because I started this in June or something I almost have already reached my goal. I’ll be keeping this challenge going next year with a 200 items project pan challenge that I will include more categories than just makeup.

Are you doing a project pan?

October Makeup Bag

Instead of doing project pans and I’m about to call it quits on my Pan That Palette Challenge, I thought that I would focus on 5 makeup products every month with a bonus perfume item and see what kind of progress I can make in a month on the items. This is also a way for me to rotate through my products and give them all the love that they deserve instead of just focusing on one palette. I’ll probably announce my defeat next week. I’m just tired of the same palette. I need the spice of life: variety!

October

I’m pretty happy at my first attempt of a flat lay. Everything looks pretty good on the makeup bag. I’ve used every product in the picture so far, except the eye gloss. Everything else has been used a few times. I’m going to try to wear the eye gloss next weekend. I had to be somewhere every morning this weekend and I wasn’t going to be putting on a full face at 6 in the morning. I don’t have time for that. I did manage to put on some concealer and lipstick though. Priorities people.

The liquid lipstick is definitely more on the nude/orange/brown side. It looks more brown farther away than up close, but I really love this color on me and it goes great with the nude Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Paarty. Oh, the liquid lipstick is the Tarte Lip Paint in Birthday Suit. I haven’t used either of these before, so I’m starting the month with brand new lipstick and blush. I’m hoping to hit pan on the blush and to go through about half of the lipstick. I might even wear it at work. It’s a good neutral color. Just need to remember my mirror for touch ups.

The perfume is With Love by Hilary Duff and I just love this perfume! It is such a good warm scent for Fall and I will be sad when I finish this off. It’s a 0.5 fl oz bottle and I have about 60% left. I have no goal for this except to enjoy it before it goes bad in my collection. I am almost done with my Cover FX primer oil and I just want to finish it off. It isn’t my favorite and I don’t enjoy it that much. If I finish it before the month is over, I’ll replace it with a primer of my choice that I already have in my stash.

The only thing left to talk about is my Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in Vanilla. I think I’ve used 1/4 of this already. I’m showing windows in the tube. I want to use it up as I have two other concealers in my collection and I don’t particularly care for this one. I think it’s overpriced for what it is and Nars is no longer cruelty free. I think I’ll purchase an Urban Decay concealer next. Drug store concealers have NEVER worked for me. They are way too yellow and the Nars matched me perfectly. It never oxidized either. High end concealer is where it’s at for me and you don’t need that much. I use concealer under my eyes and around my mouth where my smile lines are to brighten that area.

October

This is what my everyday (and night!) makeup shelf looks like in my medicine cabinet. It is A LOT less cluttered and I can grab everything easily. I have my every day setting powder, my night lip balm, my eye primer, and setting spray out as well as the products I chose. Oh, and mascara! Never forget mascara. I feel like at least two of the products that I’ve shown will be used up by November. In November, I will show you the progress of October and move right into the November picks.

Model Co

For Model Co Lip Lacquer in Viva

Lip gloss

I ended up really enjoying this lip gloss a lot and I would be happy if I got it again. I would purchase, but I haven’t found a store that carries this brand around here. The gloss was very pigmented but easy to wear. It was more peachy than pink. I removed the stopper to get out every last drop. It probably had 5 uses after I took the stopper out and now, I get to have the satisfaction of looking at an empty see-through tube. I am happy to have another gloss out of my collection. It gets me one more closer to buying a few lip oils. Has anyone tried a lip oil? I’m interested in the Clarin’s, Too Faced, and YSL lip oils. They seem to be popular.

Essential Enhancer

For Jouer Essential Lip Enhancer Conditioning Lip Treatment

lip

I don’t know if it’s full size or sample size, but this tube lasted me forever. I use this as my night time lip balm and it was good. It was a bit gritty especially if I got some on my teeth. I would not purchase this, but I would use it if I got it in a box again. I don’t recommend it, because I don’t like the grit that it has which is similar to the grit that I feel with all natural toothpaste. I liked it, but I didn’t enjoy it. It didn’t live up to my Aerin balm, which is my holy grail.

Just Kissed

For Jane Iredale Just Kissed Lip & Cheek Stain

I only used this as a lip balm. It left my lips feeling moisturized and pink (for the pink one and reddish for the orange one). It was a very pigmented pink or reddish hue on my lips after reapplying it about 3 or 4 times during the work day. It took about 3 to 4 weeks to go through this deluxe size. I liked it, but I would not purchase it. I have found my holy grail lip balm already. I also have the peach and I finished that one. It was a good lip balm and I would use it again if I received it again. I like easy to use products and this one was fuss free.
