River Queen Honey Roasted Peanuts

food

These were delicious and only three dollars on sale. They were a great pick me up snack throughout the week. It was the perfect amount of sweetness to the saltiness. I would buy these again on sale. Nuts are so expensive, but if I can get it on sale, I make sure to splurge. I highly recommend these.

Macy’s Haul

So, I bought a bunch of clothes at Macy’s for Dean. It was $250 worth of clothes that I bought for $98. I love shopping at Macy’s and getting a great deal. I also bought a few outfits for Dean at Walmart that are all Paw Patrol. I will leave that haul for a different time. Dean needed some new clothes that would fit him for the current season. I recently did a clean out of him clothes and filled a small hamper full of size 6 months to 1 year old clothes that he still had in his drawers. His 18 month clothes are getting snug and probably won’t last very long as well. So, I see another Macy’s haul coming in September. Here is what I bought him:

Carter’s 2 Pc Cotton Shirt & Jogger Pants

toddler

FYI, everything is a size 2T or 2 year old toddler. 2 year old pants FINALLY fit him. His legs are super long now. I bought these long sleeve shirt and pants to transition into Spring and these will be great in the Fall as well. I love the bright green color. This outfit retails for $30 and I bought it for $11.93. This essentially makes each piece worth $6. The little green monster on the pocket is a cute touch.

Carter’s 3 PC Whale-Print Cotton PJs

toddler

These are great transitional pajamas from Spring to Summer with the pants to the soft shorts. I love the cute saying on the t-shirt. Bedtime usually requires tears at my house. lol. Retails for: $26. Purchased for: $12.99. Each piece: $4. These pants are a little long, because they aren’t cuffed at the bottom or cinched. I love the whales and the little yellow subs!

Jem Graphic Print Cotton T-Shirt

toddler

Totally describes my little boy! These were $5.99 dropped down to $3.99. It is a cute basic little t-shirt and he needed more separates for the Summer.

toddler

I also got these graphic tee, too for the same price and brand. I love the shirts with sayings on them. I think it is amusing to see a little kid with a t-shirt that says something like Here Comes Trouble and Can’t Be Tamed. Miley Cyrus could wear this shirt.

Epic Threads Little Boys Dark Blue Denim

toddler

I bought Dean his first pair of blue jeans. These retail for $30 and I bough them for $11.99. I worked briefly at Macy’s so I know how to work the sale. I worked in the teenager girl section and in the children’s department. People buy this stuff full price ALL the time, so it isn’t like JCP where the sale price is the retail price. I only buy from Macy’s on sale. Great things go on sale and I like to check them a few times a year. The Spring clearance is the best time to find Calvin Klein dresses for $40 or $60.

Epic Treads Fleece-Lined Full Zip Camo-Hood

toddler

This is super comfy and fully lined with fleece to keep Dean warm in the car seat during the Winter. It retails for $40 and I bought it for $11.96. I found matching pants, which I will show you next. This sweater is really fluffy and it is something that will still fit this coming winter. All of his sweaters got too small for him recently and I needed to get some that would fit him now.

Epic Threads Camo Print Jogger Pant

clothes

This jogging pant retails at $30 and I got it for $11.99. It is a great pair of pants for Dean. It is a bit big at the waist, but it does have draw strings to make them tighter. You try tying them when you have a 2 year old that wants to run around though. They are a thicker pant, so it is great for the Spring and Fall time. Pants last longer on Dean than shirts do. He carries most of his weight on his upper body and has a shorter, trimmer lower body. He is short and stocky. He’s my boy. ❤

Epic Threads Hooded Puffer Jacket in Gumball Red

clothes

I love, love, love this winter jacket for Dean! He can wear it strapped into the car seat, no problem. It has a retail value of $48 and I scored this lovely red jacket for $18.73. Dean chewed some of the teeth off already, so it doesn’t zip up all the way but almost. He has a real Winter jacket for exploring the backyard and sledding. Plus, that jacket is a two like this one but HUGE on Dean. He is like a marshmallow in that thing.

Paw Patrol Marshall Hooded PJs

clothes

This was so cute that I could not resist. The retail value $14.99 and I bought it for $10.86. It was so worth it and if you have stuck with me this far, you’re reward is seeing my Dean Bean in this very outfit!

I always catch him in motion! Until next time!

New In

I have collected a few new pieces over the course of January and early February, so I thought that I would share what I have picked up. I like writing these posts when I get have a pile of new things to do a haul post with. Most of the time, I pick up things spread out over a long period of time. I don’t do a lot of hauls. I think that I did more hauls in the past. I’m trying to use what I have rather than buy buy buy. I’m being more consumer conscious and I want to move towards being a minimalist. I enjoy the aesthetic and the concept of not having more than you need, use, and enjoy. Less clutter. It will be easier to do once I own my home, but this year I am focused on using up and decluttering.

toy

Dean loves these blocks that were bought for him at Christmas time. His box was defective, so I had to return it and I rebought it at half of the price because it was clearanced. So, I used the extra money on his food for the week: Parent’s Choice fruit and veggie pouches and a couple of cans of beanies.

face

Simple is a cruelty free brand and I was in desperate need of micellar water, but couldn’t find any that were cruelty free. I do not like the Simple brand one. Maybe I should retry it? I think it might be different formula wise by now. These were clearanced down to $2.50 each and I had $1 off coupon, so two for $4 was not a bad deal at all for these. I use these every morning to cleanse my skin and on lazy nights.

dean

I bought Dean a coloring page for practicing how to color with his therapists.

deodorant

I needed a good cruelty free deodorant and I think D recommended this to me. I find that this dries out my underarms, so I apply lotion nightly and sometimes in the morning as well before applying. FINALLY! I have found a deodorant that truly lasts all day on me. It is even making me less wet when I stress sweat, which is AH-MAZING. I love this deodorant, but I want to try Tom’s next. I need to see if I can find something less drying.

Until I can find a better furry white or light blue seat cover, this seat throw will have to do. My dad bought me a black chair, which doesn’t go with my room. Throwing this fur (fake of course!) on the chair makes it look less harsh. If anyone knows a site or place to look for a furry white or light blue cover, leave me a comment and let me know. I want to find something so I can use this as a cute rug under my desk instead.

What have you bought lately?

Thrifting

I went thrift shopping at a local consignment shop and walked away with thirty dollars worth of stuff. I love this certain consignment shop. They always have unique finds and it’s never busy. It has a nice laid back attitude and I spent an hour easily in the store. The ladies who own the place coo and ahhed over Dean keeping him happy while I shopped and tried on a bunch of clothes. I’m never rushed there and I tried on way more than I bought. There are so many styles and I love trying on clothes. I even tried on a cute evening gown just to see how I’d look. lol. I am most definitely going back to take a closer look at their jewelry and nick knacks.

Vintage Sterling Silver Plated Mirror from Hong Kong

The tag on this said $3.99, but they gave it to me for $3. It needs to be polished for sure, but it is going to be a beautiful piece on my desk. I don’t have a vanity, since I don’t have a big enough room for one. My desk is a two-for-one. lol. I use it to display my vanity pieces, but also as a desk. This mirror is really heavy, so it feels nice and solid in your hand. It has a nice clear mirror, so I will be using this to help with makeup application, even if it is just for reapplying my lip balm.

clothes

This is the Style&Co brand in a size large. I don’t know what it’s called, but it is like a sweater trench coat style. I really love it and it is very warm. I like layering this over a summer top. It is a heavy knit so it keeps you warm. If I get too warm, I can take it off. I cannot wear this over something warm in case I get too warm. A summer top ensures that I can wear this through a while work day. I am wearing this my first day back for sure. This is the piece that I am most excited to wear.

IMG_3318

Jordache Super Skinny Jeans in size 14

I just searched this brand now and saw these jeans for $108. I got a good deal on these! These are super skinny, so even though I am a size 12 now, I needed to get a 14 in order for my ass not to look HUGE in these. I am super happy with these. Finally! I have pants that fit my body super well. No more baggy pants! I used to be a hourglass shape and now, I’m more like a pear with a small waist and big butt and thighs. I need to find cuts that fit with my new shape. It is so hard to find pants that fit at the waist but also have room for larger thighs. I don’t feel like a sausage in these skinnies either. I’m slowly consigning and fading out clothes that no longer fit my shape and never will. It’s hard to let go of clothes….at least for me.

clothing

Anne Taylor in size 8

Good news! I am back into fitting size 8 dresses again, which was my pre-pregnancy dress size. I love this dress and the best part is that it is very work appropriate. I can wear it to meetings and interviews. I don’t like to wear dresses often, but it is nice in the warmer weather to have other options but pants. This dress goes over $100 as well and still has the tags on it. I feel beautiful in it. It’s been a while since I haven’t felt “fat” in my clothing. I think it was from wearing bigger clothes, because I’ve been dropping the weight faster all of a sudden.

IMG_3322

The Great American Sweater Company Concepts in Medium

This sweater is so nice and comfy. It is a nice house sweater, since I’m sure it is too comfy to wear around the office. Maybe if I style it right, I can get away with it. I love the baby pink color and it reminds me a lot of a light blue robe that I used to have as a kid. I cannot use the tie belt, but I still love it open and snuggling into it. I wish there would have been a large, but this was the only one of its kind.

This was part of my Christmas present from my dad. He gave me $100 to spend and I spent $30 at the consignment shop. I’m going to share the other things that I got from Walmart and Sephora in a separate post. Also, my new hair is coming soon. I’m still deciding on a dye. Not many cruelty free options available at the drug store.

Bath & Body Works Black Friday Haul

Hey guys! I know it has been a couple of weeks since Black Friday, but I am just now getting to sharing what I bought from Bath & Body Works. I’m still figuring out my furniture, so I won’t be sharing that until another week or so. Also, Aunt Flo came early this month, so I’m a bit bitchy as well. I was so tired at work last Friday and I got sick of being asked “Are you okay?” and “Wow, you’re in a bad mood.” Like seriously?! Just because I don’t talk 50 miles an hour and am more quite doesn’t make me bitchy or moody or whatever. You asking that and stating that makes me bitchy. lol.

Let’s get on with the haul and to hell with my moody self. I paid $64.43 for my whole haul. $3.44 for tax and $5.99 for shipping. I’m going to break down what I got and see how much I saved during Black Friday. I hit the buy 3 get 3 sale and the Black Friday tote for $25. I’m curious to see how much I saved during this sale.

To start, I bought 12 mini candles and half of them were free. They were $5 a piece, so with the sale they became $2.50 a piece. So, right here I saved $30 dollars. Yes, I spent $30 on candles, because they are worth it. They burn for 10 hours and I usually burn my candles for 2 hours at a time. Each candle has about 5 uses for me and since I only use them on days off or the weekends, they will last me a while.

Notes for each candle and my first impression sniff of them:

IMG_3128

Make It Rein: Eucalyptus Mint

It is a sweeter version of Stress Relief, which is an aromatherapy scent at B&BW. I have someone in mind to gift this to and I think it will make her smile. I won’t be keeping this.

candle

Bee Bright: Caramelized Honey, Apple Butter, Cinnamon

I just smell really sweet honey with this one. I really love the sweet scent and this is something that I would burn during a relaxing bath. It just seems like a scent that I could relax to. I cannot believe how stinking cute these little candles are! The official candle name for this one is Pumpkin and Honey. I had to tear off the wrapping to find out that and the list of notes. All of these candles are sold out and removed from B&BW website.

candle

The Elf Made Me Do It: Crushed Peppermint, Homemade Marshmallow, Confection Sugar

Peppermint Marshmallow was a scent that I liked the name of so much that I bought two of them on a whim. It is the perfect amount of sweet and mint. I’m going to have a hard time burning these, because I love the scent so much. I miss how amazing these candles smell. DAMN YOU BATH AND BODY WORKS!

candle

I Tried: Iced Peppermint, Vanilla, Sugar Musk

Twisted Peppermint is another peppermint one, but this one is way more pepperminty. It smells like Candy Cane Lane Tea. It’s a good balance of peppermint and vanilla. I am really enjoying the scents that I picked up so far. They are all different from each other and I am glad that I have their “real” names. I can pick up my favorites next year. I’m not buying any more candles, until I use up most of these ones.

candle

‘Tis The Season: Apple, Cinnamon, Clove, Pine Needles

The only candle so far that is actually it’s name. lol I love how light this candle is. This would a great candle for when you are cuddled up in bed reading a good book. It is a cozy apple pie scent. Great for smelling by the fire watching a movie. Basically, this is a good vibes candle that is light and refreshing.

candle

Frosted Cranberry: Cranberries, Currant, Vanilla, Woods

Another candle that is it’s name and smells like a woodsy forest filled with cranberries. It has the sweet but woodsy scent. This is something that I would light while studying for college or something that I would light at night during a movie. I would probably even light this during the day while cleaning and organizing. It isn’t my favorite, but I appreciate it.

IMG_3120

Naughty: Spiced Gingerbread, Vanilla Icing, Cinnamon Sugar, Nutmeg

Spiced Gingerbread smells nice and light. It is definitely a kitchen scent and would smell like baking gingerbread men. The spice is strong in this one, but I really like it. So far, I have really liked the scent of all the candles that I bought.

IMG_3119

Fresh Balsam: Eucalyptus, Pine, Sandalwood

The Eucalyptus really carries the pine scent well and the sandalwood adds some more forest notes to the scent. It smells like a real Christmas tree. I don’t have a balsam this year, but a Fenty tree that has more citrus notes in addition to the pine. So, this is nice to burn on Christmas morning when I want that real true Christmas tree scent to fill the air. It would be perfect on a cozy snowy day.

IMG_3118

Cinnamon Caramel Swirl: Cinnamon, Caramel, Whipped Vanilla

This smells exactly like a coffee cake or one of those big cinnamon buns from Dunkin’ Donuts. Or some kind of sugary cereal from my youth. Another spicy, bakery scent that would be good to burn in the kitchen. It smells like sweet cinnamon french toast with maple syrup on it. I will definitely be buying more candles in the future. I just have to wait for deals. These candles smell delicious!

IMG_3126

Bah Humbug: Mahogany, Dark Oak, Frosted Lavender

Mahogany Teakwood is a fantastic dark scent. I really want this in the full size. This smells absolutely manly and I love it. It’s a sexy scent and I’m looking forward to burning this in my room. There is a hint of citrus that adds just the right amount of freshness. My dad is a big fan of this scented candle as well. It’s the perfect scent to burn after Dean goes to bed and I want to do homework, laundry, read, ANYTHING. It is the perfect room scent and I will be looking for the full size after I get down to a few of these candles.

IMG_3127

Champagne Toast: Champagne, Tangerine, Vanilla Extract

This is a refreshing bubbly fruity scent that is VERY sweet. I’m not sure that I would pick this one up again. Don’t get me wrong, I love sweet scents. I have a funny feeling though that this could potentially be headache inducing. I love smells it out of the glass. It kinda reminds me out sweet tarts. I will probably burn this on Christmas morning while Dean is opening presents. It seems like a good scent for that.

Next up is the Black Friday tote that I bought for $25. It states that it is $115 value. Let’s see if we get close to that number. I chose the Blush, which looks pinkier in person. It is very much true to its name, but maybe a touch more pink than blush.

Now, let’s get to the contents of that VIP box and start counting! I am super excited to show you what I got inside of that box!

Champagne Toast 3 Wick Candle $26.50

This Champagne Toast is different from the mini! This one has fragrance notes of Pink Champagne, Fresh Nectarine, and Winter Blackcurrant. I love this one better. It is still really sweet, but it has a freshness to it and I absolutely LOVE the candle itself. I will be reusing this because of the glitter lid. It is just too pretty to throw out. I’ll find something to keep in here. Possible hair clips or cheap jewelry.

body

Aromatherapy Recharge Sage + Mint Body Wash & Foam Bath $13.50

This smells absolutely amazing! It is a minty earthy scent that I find really refreshing. I haven’t tried that much from the aromatherapy line and I am happy to have received products from that line. They are usually on the pricey side, but this seems reasonably priced. I will probably be using this more as a body wash than as a foaming bath. I don’t take that many baths these days and when I do, I want a Lush bath. When I run out of Lush, I would consider using this in the bath.

IMG_3139

Aromatherapy Recharge Moisturizing Body Cream $15.50

Again, this has the same scent and I love the moisturizing body cream from B&BW. It is something that I use during the Winter and I wouldn’t use this during the summer. It provides a lot of moisture and hydration to the skin. I may have  oily skin, but my skin can and does get dry and chapped during the winter. Having nice moisturizing products like these really help my winter skin stay healthy. I’m currently working on a few things, so I probably won’t get to use this until next winter.

lotion

Winter Candy Apple Super Smooth Body Lotion $5.50

This has a nice wintery scent that I can see a lot of people enjoying. It is also a nice size to travel with during the holidays if you are going somewhere. I would never pay the $5 for this though, when I can get a full size for essentially $6 more. I’m glad that they threw this into the bag though. I love Christmas scents or the holiday releases.

hand sanitizer

Winter Candy Apple PocketBac $2.75

Again, this is cute and great for the holidays. I love the glittery holder!

IMG_3142

Heart of Gold Berry Sweet Hand Cream $4

I love the sweet berry scent of this hand cream. I really need hand creams too. It is getting cold out and my hands are getting dry. I need to have a hand cream at my desk instead of a mini body lotion. The body lotion is great during summer for occasional dryness, but I’m applying it multiple times a day now. I’m putting this at my desk immediately.

So, all the products in the bag have a value of $67.75. That makes the actual bag worth $47.25. I think that is a bit much. I would say its a $30 bag. I think that the actual value of this is more like $100 than $115. It isn’t that far off though and most definitely worth the $25 that I paid for it.

That was my Black Friday Haul from B&BW. I have my furniture to show you still, my Walmart Fall box just came in the mail, and my VS hauls came in as well!

With Love,

❤ Selena Hannah ❤

Victoria Secret Haul

Unlike other hauls, I won’t be showing you my purchases. I’ll say what I purchased and my experience using the VS website for the first time. You can take the time to look items up on the website if you like. I don’t want to “show” you my underwear. I think that crosses a line for me, but I’ll tell you why I bought what I bought and everything like that. I used to post actual pictures of my underwear haul, but I got creepy comments one time. Never again and plus, I know some people I work with read this blog and that would be tres awkward. lol

First, let’s talk about my first online purchase. It was super easy to sign up for the credit card and super easy to order online. Most of the sizes are true to size and you can return items in store. There is a VS near me, so I knew that if something didn’t fit, I can return it and just reorder a different size the next time I’d order. I used two coupons with my first order. I used the free shipping and the free underwear coupons. I also got the $20 coupon to spend on an order of $40. The coupon was supposed to come in my order, but it did not. A quick call to customer service later (My rep sounded like James Charles!) and I have my coupon being shipped to me in the mail. I will be shopping online again. I just got my coupon in the mail and for the inconvenience, they sent me TWO!

VS has really changed since I last shopped there. I remember VS not being the store for me. They didn’t have any bras that weren’t push-ups. Now, they have high neck bras that show zero cleavage, but still make a girl feel good about herself. One of my bras were too big. I ordered a medium and I needed a small. A SMALL?! I haven’t been a small in FOREVER. Plus, I am a 34-36 C, so a small? While the sports bra that I bought in a medium fits like a glove. It must have just been the style then. I’ll be returning the bra and keeping the other. What I love about high neck bras is that they look like tank shirts, so if something is a little low cut, I no longer have to wear an actual shirt underneath it.

I then bought 7 pairs of underwear for $28. I love boy short cuts, so I bought a few cute pairs. I bought a lilac pair that says “Sleigh My Name” on the butt. Obviously my favorite! I bought a pink scallop edged pink pair that supposedly is panty line free. It’s a weird feeling material, too. I bought a light blue kinda see through cheetah print brief. I also bought a plaid brief for those school girl day vibes. I also bought a pair that said Angel and another that says “I’ll be nice next year” on the upper thigh. I needed more underwear and now, I have really cute ones!

That is my VS haul. My next two VS hauls I’ll be able to actually show you what I buy. I plan on buying pjs and some beauty products.

Are you a fan of the high neck bra?

Selena

Sephora Lust List

I’d thought that I would quickly share my Sephora Love’s List with all of you while the sale is still going on. I will not be buying from the sale this year, but I am buying a ton of stuff from Victoria Secret’s. I qualified for one of their credit cards and I have my bonus for getting my degree in my next paycheck. I thought that I would charge my credit card now and get the $20 dollar gift cards when you spend $40. I plan on spending somewhere around $100 at VS, but with the gift cards that would be $140. So, basically instead of spending $100, I would basically be spending $60 when you add the two giftcards into the mix. I really need some new bras and underwear. I’m hoping to get some clothes too if I like anything.

I’ll be buying furniture with my other 250 of the raise. I might add another $50 towards shopping at my favorite thrift store, but more on that later.

I don’t have any pictures, but that’s okay. You can quickly search for the images on Sephora. I only use pictures that I own on my blog. My posts will be a bit on the quicker side this week, since I have so much going on. I hope everyone has a great week. I’m hoping to get my monthly makeup bag post up tomorrow if I find the extra time. I have the pictures all done since before November. I had pink eye this week and I’m dealing with a wart on my hand. Not good conditions to have to blog with.
