Primer Collection 2018

So, I am continuing this series until I have ran through everything that I have photographed in my collection as of January when I took all of these pictures. I have been trying not to overload my feed too much with these posts, but also I was so behind in the new year. I am at a more comfortable place with my blogging now, where I have room to diversify my content a bit. I am thinking about posting about getting back to going to college, college shopping mini haul, and how online college is. Let me know if any of you are interested in that. I will probably end up doing it anyways, because I think that would be great for others to know that you can ALWAYS go back and finish.

primers

I am super happy to only be seeing 5 primers, four of which are deluxe sizes. I am currently trying to use up the PTR and Benefit primers. I will move on to my full size next along with Cover FX when I want a more glowy look. Once Cover FX is done, I will pull in Smashbox for when I get tired of Studio Gear, which by the way, has little shimmer particles in it. I believe it is a little glowy as well too. It was been a long time, since I have worn it though. I cannot say for sure. I am not worried about my primer stash. I am confident that by the end of the year that I will be looking for a new primer and I already have a couple on my Loves List to try out when that time comes.

I am hoping that more of my collection will become pared down like this. I know my lip products will always be CRAZY, but I am hoping for my eye makeup drawer to be less stuffed by the end of the year. I know what I like now, so I am definitely a smarter consumer than when I first started out. I got so overwhelmed being able to buy anything I wanted, because I had a job that paid well for the first time. My first “real” job. Having a kid brings you down to earth fast on what you can truly afford.

Miscellaneous Collection 2018

This is for my pile of random stuff and samples. I also threw in some things that weren’t big enough to have their own category. I still have a bunch of makeup categories to go through after this and then, I won’t worry about this until next year. It has become such a big thing for me that I am not going to go through this again in a few months. Once a year should be plenty enough for a makeup collection.

IMG_3456

I have an ear wash solution here to soothe my earlobes after I wear earrings and my foot soak for the rare foot bath. I’d like to get through the foot soak this hear. I also have a plastic thingy for when I Nair my legs. I am actually a fan of shaving now. Funny thing.

sunscreen

I have my little collection of still good sunscreen to use up this year. The Supergoop! is almost used up and after that, I will use the Clinique on my face. I need separate facial sunscreen or else I get really bad breakouts from using just any sunscreen on my face. I need to buy some sunscreen for my son. I like him to have a really high SPF spray. The other two bottles, I use on my body during the summer. I only use SPF if I am going out in the sun. If it is a day at the office, I don’t apply sunscreen.

conditioner

My dad uses black hair dye over his grey and white hairs. I use his conditioner packets for shaving cream. I have a back stock of these, because I don’t shave as often in the Winter. It is finally getting warmer out, so I’ll be needing to shave twice a week to wear skirts and dresses. I cannot wait for the pool to be ready! I need a good tan right now.

IMG_3495

My collection of sample sized perfumes. I want to be done with them all by the end of the year. I am so glad I quite my Sephora subscription, even if the bags seem to be better after I left. I would rather spend $120 on makeup that I want. Speaking of which, I will have a Sephora Wishlist up sometime in May. I want so much; hence the wish list.

More samples from online orders and some that my friend Danielle gave me. I want to use all of these up this year as well. I am pretty sure that I can do it as long as I remember to. I love trying out samples and new things. I just have to remember to use them. I usually keep a sample in my beauty cabinet now for when I feel like using them. It has gotten me to use them more, so the new spot is working.

IMG_3503

My last pile of samples in my sample storage bag. I have already gotten through some of these and I plan to go through everything this year. I have a big project pan going on and I am going to go through as much samples and deluxe products that I can towards me 200 goal. Although most of the samples don’t count, face masks and the bigger foil packets will as long as it has 0.5 fl ounces. I actually even forgot that I had a few of these things, so I am happy to be reminded.

That is all of my random crap that I wanted to show you, because I want to use most of this stuff up this year. I hope you enjoyed this post and me blogging almost every day. I have been enjoying my blogging time and I am sure that I will find time to post at least twice a week when college is in session.

Nail Polish Collection 2018

Okay, since I have a Project Polish going on, I will only be doing my nail polish collection once this year. I will not be revisiting it, because the only polishes that I am currently using are the ones that are in my Project Polish which are 3 color polishes, one glitter, and one texture polish. I will be doing a new collection post next year, because I am hoping to use up a few of these items and it is good to keep stock of what you have every year no matter if it only has changed a little. Keeps me accountable.

These are my nail polish accessories. As you can see, I have a ton of crap from cuticle treatments, to fake nails, to a lot of nail art supplies. I want to use up some of these items if I feel so inclined. I am working on one cuticle cream right now and I am eyeing some of those nail stickers for when I get bored of my plain manicures.

One is my top coat and the other are little beads that you can put on your nails.

1 Polish

nail

These are my oranges and the Julep is in my project pan this year. I don’t have a lot in this color family, but it looks very pretty on my nails. I would like to invest in more oranges, but I need to use up the majority of my collection first.

5 Polishes

nail

I am a huge fan of glitter for a good reason: it is very shiny! I love a good glitter on the nails. I have the L’Oreal glitter in my project pan and if I finish it up, I want to move onto another. I honestly have too many glitters. I really only need one in my collection at a time. My ideal number of polishes is 10 in a perfect world, so I am going to try my very best to get it down to that number.

12 Polishes

nail

For purple being my favorite color, I don’t have many of them at all. I find that I don’t like the color very much on my nails. I only need one purple in my collection.

14 Polishes

nail

I have a fair amount of greens. If I have time this year, I want to try to work on the mint green one. I could probably use up the minis if I put them in a project pan next year. I try to do my nails and toes twice a month at the very last. I am actually due to be painting them tonight. I don’t see there being a problem getting this down to two greens.

19 Polishes

nail

I am not a glitzy gold nail person, so I want to use up all of these polishes. The OPI is a crackle polish that looks great on top of blues and greens. I think I will throw it in a project next year to try to use it up. I don’t want to keep any of these in my final 10.

22 Polishes

nail

These are my pinks. I am not really a pink nail girl, but I do enjoy it. I am trying to use up the sugar coat one this year. I would like to keep one pink in my collection.

26 Polishes

blue

I live for blue on my nails. It looks even better with a tan. I want to keep at least three blues in my collection. I love the Sinful Shine gel color blue and the Hard Candy. I love a lot of these blues. It won’t be hard for me to use up the blue Julep in my project pan this year. I have already used it three times this year. Out of my 5 polishes, if I could finish up three, I would be very happy. Finishing 5 might be a bit too much for me based on the last four months of progress. We will see.

34 Polishes

IMG_3418nail

Red isn’t my color. I need to move these out by wearing them on my toes. I will pull one of them into a project next year to move it out of my collection. I don’t want to keep any of these in my final ten. You can bet I won’t be buying any red anymore unless it is a glitter. It is the only way that I kinda like it.

40 Polishes

nail

Nudes are my final category and I would ideally want one or two of these. I have the lavender one in my project. A pink nude looks better on me than a bright pink in my opinion. I want to try to get some more nude/brown shades as well.

I have a total of 45 polishes that I want to cut down to 10. I have a lot of work ahead of me and I know that I don’t need to buy myself any in the mean time. I’m hoping to be down 5 next year and start out with 40. Next year, I am going to pull in a bunch of minis to try to use up. Maybe, I’ll choose like 10 polishes next year or start out with 5 minis and add more as I use them up. I have a newfound excitement for painting my nails. It gives me a nice creative outlet and a little bit of meditation time.

Lip Product Collection 2018

Yup, I am finally showing you an updated makeup collection for 2018. I am thinking about doing another one in June as well, but since this one is coming out so late, I might do it in September instead before I start online college. I will be showing you what I currently have in my collection. In each section, I will tell you what I had last year and how many I used up since then. I am going off of the inventory that I did in July of 2017. This should be interesting and I really hope that I made progress on some of my goals!

Lip Balm: 10

lip balm

I currently have 10 lip balms. Last July, I had 13, so I used up 4 lip balms.  I apparently wanted to use up everything but 1. That did not happen for obvious reasons, so I will set a more realistic goal this time around. I would like to use 5 of these up by next year, so when I do the update in July/September, I want to have used up at least two. The Too Faced Lip Injection is newly added to my collection since the last update.

Low End Lip Glosses: 9

lip gloss

I said that I wanted to use up all of these B&BW glosses, but otherwise than that, never set a concrete goal on my glosses. I would like to use up 4 of these this year. A lot of the B&BW ones are halfway done, so I think it is a doable goal. Plus, the mini two of the right should be easy peasy as long as I use them. I’m over my B&BW glosses and the VS gloss got in a kit with a lip pencil and liquid lipstick, so that one is recently added since the last July update.

High End Lip Glosses: 3

lip gloss

I actually used up three lip glosses since last July and have added two more in this category. I have been savoring the MAC Trolls lip gloss. It is super pretty. The Anastasia and Marc Jacobs were the two newly added items. The Anastasia is hella pigmented and is a great 90s brown nude on me. The Marc Jacobs is in Sugar Sugar, which is currently everyone’s favorite on Youtube.

Bullet Lipsticks: 6

lipstick

I have added 4 more lipsticks in this category and used up nothing. Well, I take that back. I used up one that is in my Feb update. I must have taken my pictures after I used that tube up. So, I really added 5 and used up one of the new ones I added to my collection since last July. I had no goal for my bullet lipsticks, because I didn’t have many. I would like to use up two in this category. I could get through two mini/deluxe ones for sure.

Liquid Lipstick: 6

liquid lipstick

I had 5 in this category last July, I used up one lip paint for the Feb Project Pan update, and have added two liquid lipsticks to my collection since then. The BareMinerals is almost done. I popped the stopper out of it, but got tired of the pink nude color. I will go back to it to finish it off this year. I would like to use up my other lip paint, since it is getting old. I will be happy just finishing up those two this year.

Crayon Sticks: 3

lip

So, yes one of them is a lip liner. 🙂 I added two to this category and I want to use up two of these this year. I’d like to get rid of the brown and the orange and/or yellow side. If I go through the lip pencil with how many nude lipsticks that I own, that would be a plus. I’d much rather have a clear lip liner anyway.

So, my current lip total is 37, which is four more than what I had last July. This is mostly due to my subscription Sephora box. I would like to get down to 25 by next year. I hope that I can do it, but I would be happy just to be down to 30. I love doing my makeup inventory. It really puts how much I own into perspective.

Kangacare Haul

I have been buying Dean cloth training pants to use instead of disposable diapers all the time. I found the Kangacare brand through a friend at work. It is the only brand that hold a whole pee accident without soaking through. I need to buy liners for poop incidents, but I am very satisfied with this brand. Dean is in a size medium typically for a three or four year old. He holds his pee, so when he goes, it is massive. Because of Dean’s autism and being nonverbal, I haven’t found a way to potty train him yet. These pants allow him to feel wet, so he asks me to change him. When he is in a diaper, he only asks after a poop. So, I feel like these are teaching him when he goes. It is a step in the right direction. Now, for the cuteness!

I couldn’t resist buying from the Care Bears collection. I don’t think they look particularly girly either, but I have to admit that I bought them for me. I just couldn’t resist them. They are super soft and he looks grown up wearing them. The great thing about them, is when I go to sell them, I will make back a good percentage of what I paid for. Since these are limited edition, I could even make a profit off of them. Honestly though, I’ll see if my friend can sell them for me (she has more connections) and give her 20% for doing the sale and everything for me.

pants

I bought these two Toki Doki sets, too. They are so cute and I am really into them. Look at that baby and mommy unicorn! Again, I think these lean more towards the gender neutral side and I bought them for the cute factor. These will resell well for being limited edition. A two pack is 28.99 for most of the designs. I usually buy when there is a sale. The Care Bear pack was half off. The two above were buy 1 get one 50% off. And there is always free shipping with a $25 order. One pack gets you free shipping. The free shipping is applied before codes as well.

I wanted to share with all of you what I am doing to try to potty train Dean, since a few of you were asking and emailing me about it. I am just trying to raise his attention to his bodily functions and disposable diapers just don’t let him be aware of his pee. The cloth has wet detecting technology, so he feels slightly damp when he goes and the coolness of it. It is helping and maybe it will translate into diapers as well.

Skincare Collection 2018

So, moving along with my series, here is all of my backup skin care products waiting in the wings to be used. Everything I am currently using is not a part of this inventory, only back stock of items that tend to be dust collectors for a while. I have a few bits that will need to be bought throughout the year, but for the most part, I am covered and won’t need to buy much skincare this year.

Serums

serum

I only have this Lior Gold Wrinkle Remover Serum to use up before I can buy more serums. I currently have 4 serums open, so it might be a whole while before I get to use this bad boy. I love using serums for different reasons, so I have 4 or 5 open that are all different and I use base on how my skin looks that day/night.

Masks

mask

I have four unopened masks here and I have 5 open masks currently in my collection. As soon as I have room in my beauty cabinet, I will put one of these beauties in there. Like the serums, all of my masks are different opened and unopened. I have hydration masks, plumping masks, pore clearing masks, resurfacing masks, and acne masks. I really want to try the peel one, because I don’t have an exfoliating masks open at the moment. I really want to open the L’Oreal one too. I just love masks! I try to mask every other day. I usually mask 2 to 3 times a week, 4 if I happen to be really good about it.

Moisturizer

moisturizer

I have a few deluxe sized eye creams now in storage from my last two Play boxes, but this is all the full size items that I have in storage. I have already cracked the oil open, so that is no longer in storage. I will be in the market for a face cream in the summer. I like to use oils at night and a light weight cream/gel during the day. I have oily skin so I could never use an oil during the day. I feel really good about this category. I’m hoping that next year I won’t have any serious back stock of most of these categories. I am really being strict with myself on only having one backup, so I’m not buying anything until I crack open the last one in each category.

Sunscreen

sunscreen

I have my two facial sunscreens, a sample body sunscreen, and the Smart Stuff sunscreen that I like to put in Dean’s hair and on my body. I will be using up my serum. I think it only has a couple of uses left and the Clinique will be used up this summer. Summer is the only season I use a dedicated SPF. The rest of the year, I use daily moisturizer with SPF in it and if my current moisturizer does not have spf, I make sure that I use a sunscreen on top. I only use body sunscreen in the summer though or if I am going to be outside for a long period of time with exposed limbs.

My skincare stash is much smaller than last year, so that makes me really happy. I am hoping to be all downsized in skin care next year, but we shall see. I want to try the minimalist lifestyle that works for me, which I want to be less of a consumer and more of a thoughtful one. I have been using up extras, consigning clothes, and decluttering junk. Already this year, my house looks different. More organized and clean. More appealing to the eye and less of a sore. There is still so much to do, but buying my own house in the next couple of years should help that. Not buying extras is helping, too. My kitchen needs more organization. Any tips?

Sheet Mask Collection 2018

I had to separate my sheet mask collection from my skin care collection, because I have so many sheet masks. I love sheet masks, but I hardly have any time for them. I want to make more time for them and do one a week just to get used to using them. I hardly have time with my son running around. Night time or early morning is my only time. Maybe, I will start a Saturday morning pamper routine. We shall see.

sheet mask

I have two masks from Victoria Secret’s and a lip mask from Sephora. I am interested in trying the VS face masks as I bought them at drug store prices. The lip mask sounds nice to use when my lips get really irritated. So, I am saving the lip ones for a special occasion. They aren’t cheap at $5 a lip mask.

mask

I have four here from MJCARE: two Enzyme Q10, one Pearl, and one Brightening sheet mask. I have tried the pearl and brightening and they both bring a great glow to the skin. I haven’t tried the Q10 hence why I have two of them still. They are super affordable on Amazon at $1 a mask. I’m very paying more than $5 a mask ever again when there are so many affordable options out there.

mask

More MJCARE masks: one Sea Weed, two EGF, and one Collagen. I LOVE the seaweed one and my dad enjoyed the collagen mask. I have no clue what the EGF is supposed to do, but I mostly buy sheet masks to moisturize my skin. Anything else is really just a bonus to me. They are great to relax with and throw moisture deep into the skin.

mask

Another 4: Herb and Phytoncide. I just love sheet masks. I have enough for 14 weeks if I used one every week. You may see a sheet mask haul if I use up all of these this year. I really want to try new things, so this could be the push that I need.

Do you love sheet masks?

With Love,

Selena
