Rosy Lips

For Aerin Rose Lip Conditioner

I never thought that I would love a rose scented product, but this lip conditioner has blown me away. The scent is a true rose scent that doesn’t smell artificial or old ladyish. It does a great job at nourishing the lips overnight. In the morning, I can still feel it  on my lips. It has a slight plumping effect and is in a very flattering pink nude color. It leaves my lips feeling hydrated and gives them a glossy sheen. Once I use up a few of my lip balms, I would buy a full size during the BI sale in November. I don’t need to try anymore overnight lip treatments. This is the one for me and I will repurchase this when I can justify paying $32 for a tube. This little sample lasted me a long time. A little goes a long way with this as well. You only need a dab and your lips are hydrated and plump. I absolutely love this stuff.

Walmart Beauty Box Spring 2017

This is my first season getting the Walmart Beauty Box, which is a quarterly subscription for $5 a box or $20 a year. You are only paying for shipping and nothing for the actual products inside. Let’s face it though. Companies give out samples for free, why do we pay for them? I’m glad that with Walmart I am only paying shipping and everything in this season’s box is worth the money that I paid. I didn’t get any makeup samples, which I am not mad at. I actually like getting more of the other stuff like skin care and hair care more than makeup. Please tell me that I’m not the only one?

The theme of this season’s box is Trendsetter, which looking at the items in the box, I don’t get it. Are these that popular or unique of items? I’m still happy with it and the box is really sturdy. I’m going to reuse it for something. I’m not going to throw it out. I just don’t get the theme of the box.

The paper is so pretty! I want to do something with it. I am saving that for sure. Also, today is my 25th birthday, so this is like a little birthday treat to me. 🙂

Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials 48H Deodorant

I have used this before and I really like it. I’m trying to use more natural deodorants, but I’m not going to waste this. I will use it, especially since my degree Woman’s spray irritates my underarms if I use it every day. I’ve been putting down my Lush powder deodorant first and then spraying the Degree on top. I like to put my natural deodorant underneath my remaining aluminium deodorants. This little guy goes for $1.02.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Luminous Hydration Facial Oil

I have tried the original version of this dry oil and I remember loving it. It was around $20 for 1 fl oz, which is cheaper than the more luxury oils on the market. I feel like it moisturized my skin well. I’m curious to see what is the difference with the luminous version. You only need about three drops of oil to cover your whole face or at least mine. I can see this lasting a week or two. I’m going to use a baby syringe I have lying around to drop it onto my face. Approximate value is $0.33.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Facial Moisturizer

I haven’t tried their moisturizer, so this will be a nice sample to try out. I feel like you can get a few days out of this packet if you used it night and day. I think I’ll get a week of nightly use. Approximate value is $0.90.

Colgate Optic White Radiant Toothpaste

I am really excited to try this toothpaste. I have been seeing it all over Youtube and I heard that it’s a really great whitening toothpaste. I have a toothpaste mini that I am currently working on, but when that one is done, I will take this one out on a test drive to see if it is worth the money. I don’t like to spend a ton on toothpaste, so if I like it, I’ll wait for a coupon to go with it before I buy it. I’m sad there is no coupon and just an insert. Approximate value $1.74

Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub

I’m weary of these gimmicky products from Biore. The charcoal one wasn’t very good. I hope this one is better. I will use it in my shower once I have finished my Kate Summerville scrub. I like to use scrubs in my shower, since they can be a bit messy at the sink. I look forward to trying this one out and it is a decent size. Approximate value $1.47

John Frieda Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Moisturizing Conditioner

I love the John Frieda Frizz Ease line, especially the serum. Once I finish off my current conditioner, I will be using this guy up. I like usually like my shampoo and conditioner to match, but I have a couple of shampoos with no matching conditioner. Usually, I run out of the shampoo before the conditioner. LOL. I think I also accidentally bought two shampoos one time instead of a matching set. Opps! Approximate value $0.97

Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultra Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

I enjoy a matching set, so I am glad that I have this to try out when I am out of my shampoo and conditioner and want a mini but not a foil packet. I am so lazy when it comes to foil packets. Anyways, I’ve never tried this brand, but I’m not too picky when it comes to my hair. As long as the shampoo lathers and the conditioner doesn’t weigh my hair down, I will repurchase. I don’t ask for very much. Approximate value $1.37 for both

Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

This is just a little foil packet, so it will go rather quickly. I’m guessing at 2 to 3 uses. Hopefully, it is a decent color match. Approximate value $0.25.

Totaling up this box, it was worth $8.05, which is $3.05 more than what I paid for it. I think usually Walmart boxes are at least $5 to $10 every season. This season seems to be on the higher side and I will use everything that was sent. That is not always the case with every box, but this one scored very well for me. I would give it 3 stars, because nothing really wowed me but I will use everything that I got.

Superior Shine

For L’Oreal Superior Preference Color & Shine Conditioner

No pictures for this one. It was a foil sample and I must have deleted the picture to make room for newer photos and foil samples are usually the first to go. This is a very nice thick conditioner that came with my light ash blonde hair color, but I think I like my Aussie 3 Minute Miracle better. The 3 Minute Miracle is cheaper and I think it makes my hair softer. There is nothing against this product. I just don’t like it as well as others and I will not repurchase. I’m not a real big L’Oreal fan. I just haven’t found products that really work for me from that brand yet. I’m looking forward to trying out their new clay masks though that I hear are a dupe for the Glam Glow masks. I enjoy the Aussie 3 Minute Miracle, so when I need to buy conditioner, it will be that one.

I Can See Clairol Now The Rain Is Gone

For Clairol Expert Collection AgeDefy Pantene Pro-V ColorSeal Conditioning Therapy

This was a weekly conditioning treatment to help seal in healthy-looking color and add intense shine. It is a thick, white creme that is a bit whipped (light, airy). It smells like summer with hint of coconut, ocean salt, and sweet florals. It may have a hint of almond oil as well. It smells almost identical to Herbal Essence’s Hello Hydration (in the blue bottle) with coconut and orchids. It feels like it really coats your strands in the shower. This makes my hair silky soft after conditioning. It makes me want to buy Hello Hydration (I used it all senior year of high school) for the familiar scent and how soft and silky my hair always was. This conditioner is very similar to that collection. I highly recommend both. I received this in a hair coloring box from a long time ago and I just never used it, because I always had conditioner and hair masks around. I cannot say if it makes color last longer, but it does make my hair shinier.

Thicker Hair?

For Loreal Paris Advanced Haircare Volume Filler Thickening Conditioner with Filloxane

blogger 014

What it is:

A thickening conditioner for fine, thin hair.

Key Ingredients:

water, glycerin, fragrance, linalool, benzyl alcohol, limonene, citric acid, soluble collagen.

How it feels/smells/looks:

It is a thick, white cream conditioner with the consistency between a lotion and a body butter/hair mask. It smells sugary and sweet like tangy candy. Sweet tarts, maybe?

Why I like it:

While I think it failed to thicken my hair, I did like how smooth and soft this conditioner kept my hair. The scent also lasted as long as I didn’t put something else on top of it, which most of the time, I do put something on it. I would repurchase this conditioner. I want to buy the whole system, though. I feel like that is the only way to find out if this range of products really do something to my hair. I have a huge bottle of shampoo to get through, so this might not happen for quite some time. Maybe I’ll get a blonding conditioner in the mean time…

Decked Out: December Birchbox

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

It is day 27 of my 40 days of blogging for Lent and I have to say that I am so excited to be catching up to these posts! I am so behind, it is not even funny anymore. So, without further ado, I am just going to be getting into it, because I know that these posts tend to be kinda long and I really don’t have that much to say. I talk so much sometimes it is hard for me to shut up, then other times, I have nothing to say whatsoever and I am at a lose for words. This is that kinda time for me, so… I won’t be judging the boxes like I did with the bags for Ipsy. I am just going to be doing the products, because boxes are boxes. Let’s face the facts. Some I would display, use for gifts, and storage. That’s life for ya.

Embryolisse Lait-Crème Concentré (24-Hour Miracle Cream), 5 ml for 0.37 USD

eye creamEye cream

This is decent sized for using under the eyes and for the sensitive eye lid area. Since the sample is so tiny, I just use it for my eyes at night, so they get all the moisture that it needs. I do not think that I would buy this. I would rather buy a moisturizer specially for the eyes, but this is a nice fix and the little tube will probably last a month or two of consistent eye use.

Folle de Joie eau de parfum, 0.06 fl oz for 1.96 USD

Yes, this stuff is very expensive. Almost 100 USD for 3.4 ounces of this perfume. That being said, I do enjoy this perfume and I plan to wear for the rest of March layered with my very pre-teeny cotton candy perfume to adult it up a bit. It is floral but powdery with a hint of sweetness to it that I think will pair perfectly with the cotton candy perfume that I am trying to use up. I just tried it and the cotton candy amps up the sweetness, but the powdery musk gets stronger and isn’t overwhelmed by the sweetness. I am definitely wearing this all month long. It will be my March signature scent.

RUFFIAN Nail Lacquer – RUFFIAN Red, 0.17 oz for 10 USD

Nail polish

I actually gave this away as part of a gift, so I cannot say anything about the formula. I like how this came in a little box, so it is easy to make it part of a present. Dani, have you tried this out yet? Can you comment on the formula?

Cynthia Rowley Beauty Creamy Lip Stain in Sugar, 2.25 g for 9.41 USD

Lip stainLip stainLip stain

This is a beautiful pinky nude lip stain that is a my lip color but better look. It leaves lips looking dewy and moisturized. Since my lips are super pigmented, the swatch on my hand looks darker than the actual product on my lips. I don’t know why but my upper lip is always cast in a shadow. It must be my bad bathroom lighting. I use this all of the time and I think it’s half used. I was so surprised that this is almost half of a full sized lip stain. Crazy!

Davines Replumping Shampoo, 12 ml for 1.22 USD

This is enough for two or three times and I have only used it once. I like the volume that this creates, but it left my hair noticeably sticky on day two when I tried to do something with it. I will keep this for those days that I need extra omph for a style and don’t mind washing my hair for the third time in a week. I usually only wash my hair twice a week.

Davines Replumping Conditioner, 12 ml for 2.04 USD

I love the way my hair smells with this in it; however, I do not find this to be a very moisturizing conditioner. I wouldn’t repurchase this, even though it feels my fine hair to appear fuller than it actually is. I’d rather have soft and frizz free hair. My hair will turn into a frizz ball at the slightest change in temp. So, very moisturizing shampoo is a must for one of those wash days a week.

Davines Replumping Superactive, 50 ml for 19.75 USD

This is half of the full size and I only used it three times. It is already a third time. That would mean that this bottle is enough for nine uses. A full sized bottle would be 18 uses. I do not think that that is enough uses for the price, but this makes my hair so amazingly thick WITHOUT using the matching shampoo and conditioner. If I cannot find anything similar to this, I will probably shell out the money to buy this for those special occasions or hairstyles that need mega volume.

The total value off this box was 44.97 USD. That is over four times the price of what I paid for the box, which is simply amazing! I love a great deal and Birchbox seems to be just that. I think I would give this box 3 stars for just starting out. The amount of product you get is great. I couldn’t judge the nail polish and the moisturizer sample was extremely tiny. Otherwise, this could have gotten more stars from me. What did you think of the December box?

Recently Acquired: Nexxus

Nexxus ProMend Split End Binding Targeted Leave-In Treatment Creme, 4.8 fl oz

Nexxus PromendNexxus Pro Mend

I received a coupon for a Nexxus product in my Glamour magazine. It was a 6 USD off of a 13.5 fl oz conditioner or any size treatment. So, I bought this little baby for a steal. I wanted to get regular conditioner, but at 20 USD a wack, I wasn’t willing to shell out that kind of cash (It would have been 14 USD with the coupon. It was still too much to spend for me.). This leave-in conditioner was 11.49 USD, but with my coupon it was 5.49. I bought this at Kmart, so I saved even more with my discount, making this product cost 4.96 USD including tax. I love saving cash anyway that I can and I always love a good deal. This smells amazing like fruity cherry jolly ranchers. What have you bought recently that isn’t part of a haul? BTW, this also makes my hair super soft and shed less.
