Pan That Pallet Update #5

It is the fifth month into my Pan That Pallet Challenge for 2017, since I started a month late. I am very proud of how much I was able to use up in eye products so far this year when I only use eye products on the weekend/days off. I’m also not always consistent with that, especially during the summer. I have an pool where I live. Sundays are usually pool days as long as the weather is nice. So, I’ll probably be outside for a few hours today. The most I can get with my son is three hours. So, I’m eye shadow free today, just a liquid lip and that’s it. When it gets cooler out aka not bathing suit weather, I’ll be getting more use out of my shadows. Here’s my progress this month:

As you can see, I hit pan on Sunrise, which I knew was going to happen last month. I want to hit pan on two more shadows to call this project a success. I want to hit pan on the peachy pink Sunlight and Totally Nude. Once I hit pan on these shades, I’m going to see if I can use up one shadow completely by the end of the year. Like I said, I’ll be happy with hitting pan on two more shades. I’m still working on the creams, so far no pan but I do have some finger dips in them. I really love the mauve blush on the bottom left hand corner. It looks super natural on me unlike the middle one which is a little too pink. The middle will be great for the winter for that fresh from outside flush. I’m really enjoying this pallet and glad I’m getting use out of the shades I love.

Next year, I’m going to work on my singles and trios. I’d much rather work from an eye shadow pallet than from singles and such. I’m thinking about buying the White Chocolate Chip pallet from Too Faced during the VIB sale in November. I  might not though. I feel like I have WAY too many eye products right now. I want to just have this pallet and mascara. Once I go through all my other eye shadows, I will buy an eye shadow pallet. It’s so hard to find a good one with lighter colors though…

Pan That Pallet Update #4

It is time for my fourth update for my Pan That Pallet Challenge of 2017. Honestly though, I haven’t had much progress with this one. I’ve been concentrating on using the eye shadow in my 6 Before Summer challenge, which I am half way done with that cream eye shadow. I haven’t really used this pallet much this past month. I’ve used the creams more than the eye shadow. I’ve really used the purple color corrector a lot. I really think that there will be pan the next month at the next update. I like to use the purple in my smile lines and above my top lip where there tends to be shadows. This brightens that area up considerably and looks natural under foundation/bb cream.

As you can see, Sunrise and Almond has dips in them. I’ve just started using Nector and Sunlight, so I have only scratched the surface on those. My favorite color is Sunrise. It is such a beautiful metallic gold and looks very flattering as a lid color. I think I will be hitting pan on Sunrise by the next update. I really love the cream side of this pallet as well. So, I will be using those this summer as my weekend/day off makeup. I don’t want them to dry up. I can make the darker orange work by mixing it with the lighter higlighter next to the bronzer. So far, I have hit one piece of my goal, which is to hit pan on four eye shadows: I have three more pans to go. I also want to use up 4 of the creams, but I will settle for hitting pan on four of the creams. I am 1/8 done with my project pan that pallet. I’ll be happy to hit pan on four products though. I know 8 is stretching it, but it will keep me motivated. What pallet are you panning? If you are a project panner, please comment below so that I can follow you. I love following the progress of others!

Pan That Pallet Update #2 & #3

It has been two months since my last update. I have hit pan on one of my eye shadows in my Smashbox Lightening Theory Pallet and I am close to hitting pan in the gold shadow that I love so much. I’ve been trying to use an eye shadow that is in my project pan, otherwise I would have hit pan on the gold one already. I think I will hit pan on that one by the next update. It might take a couple of updates to hit pan on another nude, all over shade. The darker crease shades might take until the end of the year, because I don’t use that much of it in my crease. I only use three to four eye shadows at most. I also only use eye shadow on the weekends and still made decent progress.

I didn’t make much progress on any of the creams, but I have been using them every weekend. You just need a swipe or a dab on each area, so you’re not really using them that much. I think I might hit pan on the purple corrector eventually, because it is the most used. I really love it for brightening up the smile lines on my face. It tends to cast a shadow, so the purple under foundation just works to brighten everything up. I also use it under my eyes after using the peach corrector and the highlighter in this pallet. I’ve really been enjoying using it and I’m not sick of it. I think as long as you add things in with it, like an eye liner, blush, eye shadow, or anything different, it mixes it up and it gives you a whole new look.

Pan That Pallet Update 1

I have been working really hard on using up the products in the Smashbox Lightening Theory pallet. I have made major progress on the shade Sand and Sunrise. Almond is really pigmented, so I only need the tiniest bit. Sand and Sunrise has a lot of kickback and I bet that’s why I have used as much product as I did. I try to build up Sand by layering it, but it still doesn’t really show up on my skin. It is great to use as a base though and I find that Almond blends better with another shadow underneath; otherwise, it tends to skip and drag a little. I love putting Sunrise all over the lid as my lid color. This gives my eyes a very natural look with a bit of shimmer. I love pairing it with the gold cream highlighter, the nude blush, and a bold colored lip.

I have been playing around with Sunlight, which the copper color next to the gold Sunrise. It is a bolder look, but I love that color as well. It is the same formula as Sunrise, so I really like it as a lid color as well. As soon as I hit pan on Sunrise, I will start using Sunlight as my lid color, which is better suited for summer anyways. I’ve been enjoying my first pallet, but I have to say that the darker colors are a bit patchy and muddy looking. I’ll have to experiment with them more. I’m not drawn to dark colors. I’d much rather have lighter shades than darker ones. I like darker ones for the crease and outer v. You definitely want to tap off the excess, because a little goes a long way with these.

I’m hoping to hit pan on Sand and Sunrise by next month, so I can move on to Linen and Sunlight. I honestly have no hope of hitting pan on almond, since it is so pigmented. I might be able to pull it off as a contour shade though.

That is it or my update! I’ll update you guys some time in April!
