Go Blonder

For John Frieda Sheer Blonde Go Blonder Lightening Shampoo

hair

This is a shampoo that gradually lightens blonde hair using citrus and chamomile. For having added fragrance, this shampoo does not smell pleasant, but is in a pleasing bright yellow color. This foam up like a dream from the two sulfates, but is very drying. Make sure to follow up with a hydrating conditioner or hair mask. This lightens up my already bleached/processed blonde hair. It doesn’t work on my natural dark blonde/ashy brown hair to lighten it up any. I like that it made my highlights brighter and less brassy. I used this once a week along with my purple shampoo to keep my blonde hair bright. Since bleaching my hair a year and a half ago, I haven’t gotten my hair done; hence, why I do not need to repurchase this anytime soon. I did like using this though.

Paw Patrol

For Nickelodeon Paw Patrol 3-in-1 Blueberry Bark

sham

I loved washing Dean with this product. It is thicker than the other washes and moisturizing. It has a nice slip to it and smells like blueberry oatmeal. It has enough moisture to condition Dean’s thin hair, but I always moisturize his body after a bath/shower. He has a tendency to have dry arms and legs. Dean loves that he gets to play with his T.V. friends in the tub. I keep the empty bottles for him to play with as long as the caps stay intact. They have a tendency to break and I chuck them out when that happens. I used the Marshall one for the first time and the cap broke. He’s still playing with Chase though.

Perk Up

For Amika Perk Up Dry Shampoo

hair

Honestly, this is the best dry shampoo I have tried so far. It works on my third day hair to where it looks freshly washed. I wash my hair at night (which I consider day 1), so really second day hair, but the third day from when I washed it. This does not leave residue in my hair or the dreaded white cast. It soaks up all of the oil without having to spray a ton in my hair. I love the scent of it as well. I am considering buying a three pack for like $25 at Sephora. It is the best and buying it during the sale would make the price drugstore. I also would be stocked up for the rest of next year. I hope I get another sample of this or something else from this brand. I really love this product.

Walmart Summer Beauty Box

After seeing what my best friend got in her Walmart beauty box, I feel a little disappointed that I didn’t get those press on gel nails. I’m still happy with my summer box and I cannot complain when I only paid $5 for everything. The theme is Radiate Your Beauty and it contained a whole lot of summer essentials. I love that everything is travel friendly in case I decided to go to Maine for the day. I like to wash my hair in those shower stalls instead of waiting to go home, when everyone would rush for the bathroom back in my youth.

I love the colors and overall design of the box this season. It looks like a beautiful sunset and the perfect size to put a book inside of. I like to protect my paperbacks by the pool when not in use and this box would be perfect for that purpose.

Schwarzkopf Got 2B Ultra Glued Invincible Styling Gel = $0.88

hair

Like I said in my Sephora Play post yesterday, I like to put some type of hair product in my hair after a shower and this is something that I would add in after my detangler. I am using something else at the moment, so this will be going into storage for now. If my dad runs out of styling gel, I would give him this one to try out. He rarely runs out of hair products though, because he hardly ever uses them. Well, he doesn’t remember to.

Ecotools Mask Remover Sponges = $2.64

face

I am excited for these! Masks are so messy and I know I have a hard time removing them. These sponges will make it so much easier and I will probably do masks more often now. You can reuse these sponges. I’m not sure how long one will realistically last, but since three are under $4 at Walmart, it would be easy to pick up replacements. It’s not that expensive if it works better than a face cloth. I like that you can also use it to make your face wash a bit more exfoliating.

Pantene Dream Care Shampoo & Conditioner = $4.67

I enjoy the scent of these and I will be placing them in my back stock. I am working through my foil packets of shampoo and conditioner right now. Once I finish all of the foil packets, I will move on to these deluxe sizes to make my full size bottle of shampoo and conditioner last a bit longer. My hair needs variety. It gets used to shampoo and then, it will stop working as good. I like constantly changing it up. Everything works on my hair now. It’s amazing. Now, I know if a shampoo stops working, I need to switch to a different one and then I can go back to the other one and it will work again. I never thought hair could really “get used” to shampoo. I think it’s more of my scalp though, not the actual hair.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion = $1.18

IMG_2363

I will be using this on Dean, because Dean has dry skin on his legs and arms. I like to use more natural products on Dean, besides his really artificial shampoo and body wash. I bought baby lotion for him, but it doesn’t moisturize his skin enough. I’ve actually been using his lotion, because it provides light moisture which is what my oily skin needs in the summer. This has a skin protectant, so it will be good for his skin.

Banana Boat Dry Balance SPF 30 Sunscreen = $1.87

face

I am happy to have a back up sunscreen for my face for at the pool and for Dean’s face, too. I don’t like having a greasy sunscreen face, so having a separate sunscreen is essential. Usually, sunscreens will have an expiration date, but this one doesn’t. I would assume that it will be good for a year, so I could still use it next year if I don’t finish it. I’ll put it in my back up stash for now. Wow. I say that a lot.

Soo Ae Nature Vitamin Collage Essence Mask = $2.50

mask

I’m happy that I got a sheet mask in my box, because I’m going through 7 of my masks during the 14 by Fall challenge. It might be a while before I use this mask, but I have tried this brand before and I really like how saturated these are. I look forward to using it when I can.

Foil Packet

IMG_2368.JPG

Lastly, I got this foil packet sample and it couldn’t have come at a better time. My brushes need a deep cleaning right now and I think I’ll them after this post. Baby shampoo is just not cutting it anymore.

The total of this Walmart box is $13.74 and that is over double of what I paid for this box. I will be using everything in this box and I think it was well worth the $5 investment. What did you get in your box?

June Empties

Another month gone and another month of empties. June was a light month for me and I didn’t really use up that many products. I did use up a few products that I haven’t reviewed before so as usual there will be a lot of product reviews this month. I’m going to try to have a post up everyday in July. Hopefully, I can keep this up the whole entire month. I plan on heading out to swim after I write this, so I’m glad it was a short month!

Rebalance

For Davines Rebalancing Shampoo

shampoo

Probably the only Davines product that I really enjoyed and would repurchase if it was a brand that was readily available. It was a nice clarifying shampoo for my oily scalp and got rid of all the product build up in my hair. I have a hard time finding clarifying products that work well. I just got one in my Sephora Play box, so I am excited to try that one. Sephora is readily accessible to me, because I buy everything from makeup to skin care to hair care from there, not to mention perfumes, gifts, and household items. I love high end items that go on sale that I can buy at Sephora as well. I almost never buy things for myself during the year, so Sephora is like my one indulgence. If they carry this online, I would consider purchasing it there next time.

May Empties

I have a whole lot of empties this month that my basket was overflowing. I had to photograph everything and start this post in mid-May. That is how many empties I have this month. I actually even cut May a few days short. I’m writing this on May 28th, because the basket filled up good again. It’s close enough to the end of May and it will just give a little bit of a boost to June. Although, I don’t have anything really close to being empty yet, which is why I just decided to do my count today.

I think 51 empties is enough for one month. I’m happy ending it here early. This was such a heavy month. I look forward to seeing what I can accomplish next month. You’ll be seeing plenty of reviews for the next few months to come. I’m behind in my product reviews. I have so many prewritten on paper for my blog. I probably have 50 reviews right now, waiting to be featured. I continue to write them throughout the month as well on paper. I tend to review around 40 items a month on paper, but there is not that many days in a month. Naturally, I got behind. I hope you don’t mind seeing reviews 5 days a week and my more unique posts on the weekends/holidays.
