Walmart Summer Beauty Box

After seeing what my best friend got in her Walmart beauty box, I feel a little disappointed that I didn’t get those press on gel nails. I’m still happy with my summer box and I cannot complain when I only paid $5 for everything. The theme is Radiate Your Beauty and it contained a whole lot of summer essentials. I love that everything is travel friendly in case I decided to go to Maine for the day. I like to wash my hair in those shower stalls instead of waiting to go home, when everyone would rush for the bathroom back in my youth.

I love the colors and overall design of the box this season. It looks like a beautiful sunset and the perfect size to put a book inside of. I like to protect my paperbacks by the pool when not in use and this box would be perfect for that purpose.

Schwarzkopf Got 2B Ultra Glued Invincible Styling Gel = $0.88

hair

Like I said in my Sephora Play post yesterday, I like to put some type of hair product in my hair after a shower and this is something that I would add in after my detangler. I am using something else at the moment, so this will be going into storage for now. If my dad runs out of styling gel, I would give him this one to try out. He rarely runs out of hair products though, because he hardly ever uses them. Well, he doesn’t remember to.

Ecotools Mask Remover Sponges = $2.64

face

I am excited for these! Masks are so messy and I know I have a hard time removing them. These sponges will make it so much easier and I will probably do masks more often now. You can reuse these sponges. I’m not sure how long one will realistically last, but since three are under $4 at Walmart, it would be easy to pick up replacements. It’s not that expensive if it works better than a face cloth. I like that you can also use it to make your face wash a bit more exfoliating.

Pantene Dream Care Shampoo & Conditioner = $4.67

I enjoy the scent of these and I will be placing them in my back stock. I am working through my foil packets of shampoo and conditioner right now. Once I finish all of the foil packets, I will move on to these deluxe sizes to make my full size bottle of shampoo and conditioner last a bit longer. My hair needs variety. It gets used to shampoo and then, it will stop working as good. I like constantly changing it up. Everything works on my hair now. It’s amazing. Now, I know if a shampoo stops working, I need to switch to a different one and then I can go back to the other one and it will work again. I never thought hair could really “get used” to shampoo. I think it’s more of my scalp though, not the actual hair.

Aveeno Daily Moisturizing Lotion = $1.18

IMG_2363

I will be using this on Dean, because Dean has dry skin on his legs and arms. I like to use more natural products on Dean, besides his really artificial shampoo and body wash. I bought baby lotion for him, but it doesn’t moisturize his skin enough. I’ve actually been using his lotion, because it provides light moisture which is what my oily skin needs in the summer. This has a skin protectant, so it will be good for his skin.

Banana Boat Dry Balance SPF 30 Sunscreen = $1.87

face

I am happy to have a back up sunscreen for my face for at the pool and for Dean’s face, too. I don’t like having a greasy sunscreen face, so having a separate sunscreen is essential. Usually, sunscreens will have an expiration date, but this one doesn’t. I would assume that it will be good for a year, so I could still use it next year if I don’t finish it. I’ll put it in my back up stash for now. Wow. I say that a lot.

Soo Ae Nature Vitamin Collage Essence Mask = $2.50

mask

I’m happy that I got a sheet mask in my box, because I’m going through 7 of my masks during the 14 by Fall challenge. It might be a while before I use this mask, but I have tried this brand before and I really like how saturated these are. I look forward to using it when I can.

Foil Packet

IMG_2368.JPG

Lastly, I got this foil packet sample and it couldn’t have come at a better time. My brushes need a deep cleaning right now and I think I’ll them after this post. Baby shampoo is just not cutting it anymore.

The total of this Walmart box is $13.74 and that is over double of what I paid for this box. I will be using everything in this box and I think it was well worth the $5 investment. What did you get in your box?

Walmart Beauty Box Spring 2017

This is my first season getting the Walmart Beauty Box, which is a quarterly subscription for $5 a box or $20 a year. You are only paying for shipping and nothing for the actual products inside. Let’s face it though. Companies give out samples for free, why do we pay for them? I’m glad that with Walmart I am only paying shipping and everything in this season’s box is worth the money that I paid. I didn’t get any makeup samples, which I am not mad at. I actually like getting more of the other stuff like skin care and hair care more than makeup. Please tell me that I’m not the only one?

The theme of this season’s box is Trendsetter, which looking at the items in the box, I don’t get it. Are these that popular or unique of items? I’m still happy with it and the box is really sturdy. I’m going to reuse it for something. I’m not going to throw it out. I just don’t get the theme of the box.

The paper is so pretty! I want to do something with it. I am saving that for sure. Also, today is my 25th birthday, so this is like a little birthday treat to me. 🙂

Dove Advanced Care Cool Essentials 48H Deodorant

deodorant

I have used this before and I really like it. I’m trying to use more natural deodorants, but I’m not going to waste this. I will use it, especially since my degree Woman’s spray irritates my underarms if I use it every day. I’ve been putting down my Lush powder deodorant first and then spraying the Degree on top. I like to put my natural deodorant underneath my remaining aluminium deodorants. This little guy goes for $1.02.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Luminous Hydration Facial Oil

I have tried the original version of this dry oil and I remember loving it. It was around $20 for 1 fl oz, which is cheaper than the more luxury oils on the market. I feel like it moisturized my skin well. I’m curious to see what is the difference with the luminous version. You only need about three drops of oil to cover your whole face or at least mine. I can see this lasting a week or two. I’m going to use a baby syringe I have lying around to drop it onto my face. Approximate value is $0.33.

Palmer’s Coconut Oil Facial Moisturizer

IMG_1997

I haven’t tried their moisturizer, so this will be a nice sample to try out. I feel like you can get a few days out of this packet if you used it night and day. I think I’ll get a week of nightly use. Approximate value is $0.90.

Colgate Optic White Radiant Toothpaste

toothpaste

I am really excited to try this toothpaste. I have been seeing it all over Youtube and I heard that it’s a really great whitening toothpaste. I have a toothpaste mini that I am currently working on, but when that one is done, I will take this one out on a test drive to see if it is worth the money. I don’t like to spend a ton on toothpaste, so if I like it, I’ll wait for a coupon to go with it before I buy it. I’m sad there is no coupon and just an insert. Approximate value $1.74

Biore Baking Soda Acne Scrub

Face

I’m weary of these gimmicky products from Biore. The charcoal one wasn’t very good. I hope this one is better. I will use it in my shower once I have finished my Kate Summerville scrub. I like to use scrubs in my shower, since they can be a bit messy at the sink. I look forward to trying this one out and it is a decent size. Approximate value $1.47

John Frieda Frizz Ease Daily Nourishment Moisturizing Conditioner

conditioner

I love the John Frieda Frizz Ease line, especially the serum. Once I finish off my current conditioner, I will be using this guy up. I like usually like my shampoo and conditioner to match, but I have a couple of shampoos with no matching conditioner. Usually, I run out of the shampoo before the conditioner. LOL. I think I also accidentally bought two shampoos one time instead of a matching set. Opps! Approximate value $0.97

Schwarzkopf Gliss Ultra Moisture Shampoo and Conditioner

I enjoy a matching set, so I am glad that I have this to try out when I am out of my shampoo and conditioner and want a mini but not a foil packet. I am so lazy when it comes to foil packets. Anyways, I’ve never tried this brand, but I’m not too picky when it comes to my hair. As long as the shampoo lathers and the conditioner doesn’t weigh my hair down, I will repurchase. I don’t ask for very much. Approximate value $1.37 for both

Rimmel London Stay Matte Liquid Mousse Foundation

sample

This is just a little foil packet, so it will go rather quickly. I’m guessing at 2 to 3 uses. Hopefully, it is a decent color match. Approximate value $0.25.

Totaling up this box, it was worth $8.05, which is $3.05 more than what I paid for it. I think usually Walmart boxes are at least $5 to $10 every season. This season seems to be on the higher side and I will use everything that was sent. That is not always the case with every box, but this one scored very well for me. I would give it 3 stars, because nothing really wowed me but I will use everything that I got.

Mommy Box

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

I recently purchased the Ecocentric Mom bimonthly Pregnancy Box for 19 USD. It is usually 23 USD and it ships every other month. I really loved what I got in my box on a whole and I think that I will stick with it for at least the time being. It seems like I definitely did get my money’s worth. I like getting different boxes though. I don’t know, but if you are pregnant, you should really try this box. I’m trying to save money, so I might not stick with the subscription. I haven’t decided yet.

Mommy 008

Pink Stork Mist, 4 fl oz for 15 USD

I forgot to take a picture of this before I started using it. It is a full sized bottle that is supposed to help with nausea, headaches, and minor aches and pains. It really does work for me and all it is made out of is water and magnesium extracted directly from the Dead Sea. I highly recommend this product, if you have trouble in these areas for a natural solution during pregnancy. I also received a 25% off coupon for the Pink Stork brand. They even have tea and bath salts. I might be shopping a little if they are a good price.

chipsChips

Simply 7 Snacks, 2 bags for 2 USD

These chips contain seven simple and delicious ingredients. I already ate the Quinoa Chips and they were plain and delicious for a sensitive pregnant tummy. In the name of science, I opened the Hummus Chips and they are tastier! They are garlicy and a bit spicy. If I saw these at the store, I would buy them, but I’ve never seen this snack before. Has anyone else?

Scrub

Earth’s Enrichments Lavender Face Scrub, 8 oz for 14.99 USD

This face scrub is USDA organic, but I don’t know if I would use it on my face. The sugar is very coarse and bigger than my Ocean Salt scrub granules. This would be really nice to use as a body scrub on the nights that I cannot get any sleep. Lavender makes me tired, so I don’t mind the grandma smell. If I still smell in the morning, I can always use a fruity body butter to cover it up. I’m really amazed at the value of this box so far! I will be getting the next one in July! I am sticking with it. I also received a 20% off coupon as well. If anyone is interested in the coupons, let me know and I will email you the code if I don’t use them. But please, if you ask, use them. Thank you.

toothbrush

WooBamboo Bamboo Toothbrush, 1 ct for 4.95 USD

I like that this toothbrush will naturally decompose and be good to the environment. This was a nice touch and I can use a backup toothbrush to take to the hospital that I wouldn’t mind losing. In October, I am going to pack my hospital bag, so that I can always be ready and not have to think about it. This will make that a little easier.

sunscreen

Goddess Garden Organics Sunscreen, 1 oz for 3.33 USD

It is a watery sunscreen that rubs in quickly and gives your skin a nice sheen to it. It smells like lemon and orange blossoms. It is very pleasant and I wouldn’t mind buying a full size bottle, which is 6 oz for 20 USD. I also have a 30% off coupon that I will be using towards this product. I feel like it is a safe option to have and I want to order it for the rest of this summer and I would even use it in the winter until I used it up. I love that it is a dry touch sunscreen. There is no grease! A miracle!

nail polish

Lillian Eve Nail Polish in Sweet Dreams, 15 ml for 12 USD

This nail polish is free from toxins and is vegan as well as cruelty free. This is a nice baby pink color. Hopefully, it turns out to be opaque and of good quality. If I have a little girl, I could see painting her nails this color when she is 2 or 3. It is a nice neutral, girly color. It’s a safe color. It might be a your nails, but better color. I am excited to try it. Might paint my nails tonight with it.

Body Butter

Bella Organics French Lavender Belly Butter, 0.25 oz for 3.99 USD

This really thick butter practically melts on your finger. It has that old lady smell to it, but it is very moisturizing and is supposed to prevent stretch marks and provide itching relief from the stretching. It absorbs fast and is made with raw shea butter and jojoba oil. I will be using some every night once my stomach starts to bother me. I have coconut oil that I put on my belly every night to prevent stretch marks. I also have a 5 USD gift card that came with the box. I might buy something small and just pay the shipping.

Well, that was my pregnancy box and the value was 56.26 USD! I only paid 19 USD for this and at the regular price of 23 USD that is over double of what you paid for it! You can look forward to another unboxing in July for Julamorous!

Nature Box: Sampler

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

My Sampler Nature Box finally came in today! I only had to pay 2 USD for shipping and I have to say, looking at all of these snacks, it seems to have been worth it. I am trying to eat healthier and be healthier. To everyone who doesn’t know, I used to be a binger, not anorexic Danielle. I used to binge on junk food in high school and either throw up or exercise for hours. It is how I remained so fit, when I was actually really unhealthy. I had to go to treatment and everything. I was a really private person and I’ve kept this secret for a long time. Danielle, it was also the reason that I never called you that summer. I wasn’t really mad at you. I was more mad at myself for being “weak”. It was how I saw myself. I am hoping that I like nature box, because it would be healthy and nutritious snacks that wouldn’t encourage me to go back to that dark place. Starting this month, I am not buying any junk food: no chips, no candy, no ice cream, no soda. This is something personal that I need to do for myself. I have high blood sugar, so laying off of the junk will be better for me anyways. Now, that I have gone way off topic, let’s see what I got in the box.

I tried a pretzel and it was delicious. It was sweet and salty. It has the best flavor with the crunch. It was just so good and best of all, very healthy for you, too. You can try Nature Box for 2 USD yourself and you don’t even need a Youtuber’s code.

Birchbox Man: April

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

This is potentially my dad’s last Birchbox for a while. He has a nice stash of hair products and he wants to take a month or two (or three) off to go through everything that he has. I tried to cancel and Birchbox told me that I would lose my points. I emailed them asking if I was really going to lose 28 USD worth of points.  I am keeping my subscriptions, so I don’t see why. We will see what they have to say. I recently subscribed to Nature Box, because I was curious about the snack company. I should be receiving my first box next week. So, here is my makeup post for Friday.

English Laundry Cambridge Knight Eau de Parfum, ? fl oz for 1 USD?

Parfume

My dad liked this scent, but wouldn’t buy it for the price. I totally agree with him. It smells nice, but really nothing special.

PARLOR by Jeff Chastain Reworkable Hold Paste, 0.5 oz for 4 USD

PastePaste

My dad really likes hair paste and the fact that you can use it on wet or dry hair. My dad just likes to rub some paste in his hair and call it a day. I like effortless style and I am considering getting my bf some hair paste. I love hair paste myself for grip on braids. This seems like a TON of product, though. My dad will have months of use since you only need a little bit, no matter your hair length.

PLANT Get It On Body Wash, 1 fl oz for 2.22 USD

body wash

My dad laughed at the name and is intrigued enough to give it a try. It is a one time use sample, but you can usually know with body wash. The smell isn’t amazing, but if it is very moisturizing, I would buy it for him for Father’s Day. Anyone has any Father’s Day ideas?

Declan Solid Squared, 1 ct for 30 USD

pocket square

My dad told me that I could have the pocket square. I told me to put it away until he has a fancy suit worthy even to go to like my wedding. This will be sitting for a long time. This was really ill suiting for my dad.

Word. Notebooks, 3 pack for 10 USD

notebookNotebook

My dad loves this little notebooks for writing out shopping lists or things he wants to remember. They are nice little notebook that are easy to just throw in a bag and go. These will make shopping so much easier!

This month’s subscription is worth a whopping 47.22 USD, which is double the subscription cost! This is a really great value and well worth the money. I did cancel the subscription and Birchbox assured me that I will not lose my points. I will be ordering something from them soon! An early Birthday treat to me, myself, and I. It’s all about me, me, me, me, and everybody. lol If you know where that song lyric is from, high five!

Birchbox Unboxing: February

Heya Aspiring Gurus!

So, this video was not the best. It was really steady and I thought I was organized. The end of the video got cut off, because my kindle decided that that was a good time to tell me that I was almost out of space. I still had 10%, but it decided that that wasn’t enough. There wasn’t much left to the video anyways, so I just decided to upload it. If you saw my previous post my impression of the November Ipsy bag was uploaded. I plan on uploading the December Ipsy impressions next week. Let me know if you like this style of videos and posts. I don’t have any more to say, except to have a Happy Sunday before the hectic work week ahead!
